Caption

Ashford Castle, on Lough Corrib, Cong, Co. Mayo, Ireland. Ashford Castle. This fairy-tale castle rising over the shores of beautiful Lough Corrib, in the heart of Co. Galway's stony fields and rugged mountains; one of the most luxurious hotels in Ireland. It was built in 1860 by the Guinness family, and cost a million pounds then. Many people who are not aware of the fact have already seen some of its lovely surroundings, because it was here that John Ford's prize-winning film, "The Quiet Man", was made.
