Navy Pier. Chicago, Ill. The Wonderful Navy Pier at the foot of East Grand Avenue, is one of the great sights of the Middle West. Cost over $4,500,000. It is 3,000 feet long, 292 feet wide. The freight and passenger buildings are each 340 feet long and 100 feet wide and have the largest passenger sheds in the world. On the roof of the two passenger sheds are board-walks, each nearly 1/2 mile long, the longest board-walks between the Oceans.
