An Evaluation of Grantmaking Report for The Union Bank Foundation
Abstract or Description
To better understand the outcomes and impact associated with its philanthropic grantmaking, the Union Bank Foundation engaged the Caster Family Center for Nonprofit and Philanthropic Research (Caster Center) at the University of San Diego to conduct an evaluation of its grantmaking. The primary scope of the evaluation work involved an end-of-year outcomes evaluation, where the Foundation’s 2011 grant applications data were content coded and analyzed. Results from the analysis subsequently informed the second portion of the work, which entailed redesigning the foundation’s grant application. A full description of the research methods and findings are presented in this report.
