Excerpt from Message

Dearest M – We arrived here last night and put up at the Windsor – stopped an hour at Bruges. A Stand-Passage from Dover delightful – not in the least sea-sick – Are taking the 3.55 PM train to Brussels this afternoon. This is market day and we have seen all sorts of picturesque and new sights and people. Belgian porters liars & monsters [illegible] worst description – have the audacity to tell you how much they want – I’m glad I can swear in French – lovingly Margaret
