Excerpt from Message
Dear Mother : This spic and span island of the Netherlands Antilles is like being in a fairy tale – with its “gingerbread” tiny, bright hued buildings as gay and colorful as a carnival. Pronounced by natives Coo-rah-sah’oh) Curacao is so out-of-this world with color, dwarf trees, cactus fences, windmills, canal-like channels, fancy costumes and the strange language of the dark-skinned people. Venezuela and that tip of the Andes was very, very different too. Best wishes.
