Excerpt from Message

My dear friend, Many thanks for the newspapers. Enjoyed them so much! I spent a pleasant afternoon here, Friday [illegible] and had a beautiful bunch of roses given me out of a garden near this church. The weather is perfect – a little cool after sundown. I certainly have seen the best of [illegible] and am in love with it. Tomorrow at 7 a.m. I leave for Rome will write – you from there. My address there will be “Sebastian & Reali Bankes” love & all [illegible]
