Excerpt from Message

(back) Dear Miss May, Many thatks for you kind letter. It is a month now that I am here. The town is lovely, there are so many artistic things to see, so beautiful churches, monuments and pleasures that I am always in amazement. I stay with the Duchess Benelli Crescenzi, Via Pan Dolfini 25, I am with their daughters, 19 and 21 years old. I teach them English and German and we plat the piano together, but we go always out, make visits and the study very little. They are kind but stupid and very mean. I am very well and pleased here. There are so pleasant walks… (front)The weather is warm and nearby always seems nice. I’ll write you a letter soon. My mother is quite well now, so is yours, I hope. With love to you and your mother, Therese Schevertschlag /
