Chartres (E.-et-L.). - La Porte Guillaume Construite au Viie siècle, par Guillaume de Ferrières, Vidame de Chartres, sur l'emplacement d'un ancien donjen; anciennement tour or fortresse de l'Evêque. Au premier étage de la Porte était la Caapelle Saint-Fiacre et Saint-Pantaléon, fondé en 1250. Cette Chapelle existant encore au XVIIe siècle. la Porte Guillaume fut inconiée en 1856.

June 21st Yesterday was our first perfect day so we motored to Chartre, en route visiting Dreux where there is an exquisite chapel in which all the lovely tombs of the D’Orlions family. The country was lovely beyond belief or imagination. But well + send love. N.A. Burke
