Here in this royal house I have spent many delightful hours – quite forgetful of the [illegible] Since here I learned of the death of my sister-in-law Claudin – Her death was very beautiful - & she lies so Papa writes me – in the sunshine on the hills of San Diego overlooking the lovely bay. – Hers was a rare and lovely character. She left a little son 6 days old – what do you / to write her. I am [illegible] seriously [illegible] Yesterday 1st Friday in Berlin. Forgot [illegible] of you! / Affectionate greetings Gustav Kamper / 1903 “Kamperswalde” the sixth of June – Your little message came but I am waiting for a letter! Out here near to the heart of nature, the days pass swiftly – daily long rides & walks – We are both well, Gustav looking as if he had discovered the elixir of life & moi – I am ruddier & I trust with the [illegible] – Please tell Agnes that I did not forget the 4thMarrks I shall & then I am very grateful for her long letter I am [illegible].
