Excerpt from Message

My dear Mrs. Clarke, I’ve been waiting to get a really nice postal to send you, and now I think I’ve succeeded. We are charmed with Lichfield, it’s small it is certainly the “Queen of Minslip." The memories of Dr. Johnson that hang round his birth city are truly interesting. Thus far of all the names we like Lincoln the best. He heard a grand organ recital in York. So is all so lovely, that I am promising the Lord the very goal in returning for so many from Uncle is so well, and looks it now is making me nook my brains is real [illegible] We visit Warwick, Oxford, Manchester and Salisbury from here and hope to be back in London by Monday or Tuesday when we will get our Christmas mail. Love to all, Nellie.
