Excerpt from Message

August 30 / Dear Mother, We have been on a motor trip around and have just returned to London for a few days before we go to Paris on Monday. I have seen so many famous Cathedrals and other places that I can hardly keep them all straight. In one of the Cathedrals, Gloucester, we saw the oldest stained glass window in England, dating from 1150. I have also seen, among other things, the old abbey where Caedmonwrote the first English poetry, and the ruins of the Kenilworth Castle of Scotts novel. I think, from all I have seen, that England is more interesting than California. Pat Crowe
