Excerpt from Message

Dec. 10th Maggie liked the pictures about St. Genevieve and Joan d’Arc. It is all very much like home to see these places, but at first this marker seemed strange to me. Madame Leroi came today. She is thinner and aged a little otherwise unchanged. She asked all about Mattie and May and G. and was greatly interested in you all – she took me to the Furiers, the finest here, the head of which is a friend of hers. The fit the linings today and will finish it in two weeks and I will have a swell new seal skin – out of sight, beautiful – with yellow lining and smoker pearl and gold buttons. They all just bound around in fine [illegible]. I like to be under the headers wing – I asked Madame Leroi what she thought of my hotel and she didn’t (go to St. Etienne back)
