Excerpt from Message

II Mexico – D.F. Aug-5-1940 / Dear Miss Nellie – I do not want to leave Mexico without sending you and Mrs. Sheedy a little – we expect to start for California in about a week – and if my [illegible] behaves properly we shall probably arrive in La Jolla in four days. [illegible] regrets leaving this Peaceful land and mu cousin and other I love here, but much as I love being here I realize that the NSA is nearest my heart – blood is not always thicker than water. It has been a splendid trip and Carrie has become a fine Spanish Scholar – the telegram from Fred [illegible] has left me a bit numb – How I shall miss my darling Ada – Love B
