Excerpt from Message

August 15 – 1902 May Mayrum, This is where we were going today had it not rained. Whatever induced us to Nancy it might not rain. I cannot imagine. It merely shows our hopeful natures. I think it has rained here since and created man. It really is a – place. I also fancy it was the bed of the ocean once and has never gotten over the dampness. Lovingly - Genevieve
