Excerpt from Message

August 17, 1902 / Cherie – This shows you the old church of Garmisch built two hundred years ago. – We watch anxiously for your letters – I am very distressed that the girlie is sick, nothing of note today except a procession we did not understand. / I find this so “exceedingly ravishing” a picture – that I am actually spell bound. / Dear Mayrum mine: Sunday night “I never know what to write on a postal – [illegible] / at Mother’s earnest exhortation I desist from defacing this property.
