Excerpt from Message

Another view of Enna showing the terrace-farming as well as giving an idea of the almond trees in primavera!! This town (city) is (3000 ft. alt) & centers Sicily. Ovid wrote at the nearby Lago Pergusa(apparently little used). Before reaching Enna we toured to “Piazza Amerina” which grows out of a mt. top and drips over the sides & spills down the mountain! About 3-4 miles out are the “new” Roman ruins unearthed 4 years ago & still being uncovered. The MOSAISI are 5m cent AD & badly done (show “bikinis”!) in their ancient Villa of some Gov of the Province. The small amazingly lush & intensified cultivated truck gardens in the river bottom really paradise! Tempi glorioso. Love F.
