spent the night of 16th May at Modina del Campo due to train not running – arrived at Salama Sun 17 – founded 2 centuries before Christ – Columbus appealed for help & received it from the Dominican’s at the Monastery of San Sebastian – Salamanca was once the seat of a great University still in existence but not so popular. Arrived Segovia 18th May at 7Pm. The most picturesque & fantastic of all [illeigible] villages – Left [illegible] 20 May.
