Caption

Grand Canyon. Grand Canyon, created by the corrosive action of the Colorado river over many centuries, is a sight which baffles the imagination of every visitor. Over a mile deep, from eight to ten miles wide and 200 miles in length, this huge chasm is pictured in all its beauty with the hovering clouds of a storm.

Excerpt from Message

Dear Mother. I haven't had a chance to write- we all either looking or driving. I am enjoying this part of the trip much more. We met many of daddy's old school friends in Phoenix. The heat was really bad though. Saw some Indian dances today that Mrs. Clark would have appreciated! I'll write [illegible] Gina
