Caption

Grand Canyon National Park, Arizona-- The Grand Canyon spreads out for seemingly endless miles, an ocean of color. Rising from its misty depths are gigantic islands of crimson sandstone, their undulating bands growing softer in color and outline toward the horizons, where a single firm stroke seems to separate the rosy depth from the deep blue sky above.

Excerpt from Message

Dear Mother. I didn't see any bears however the deer made up for it! The canyon made me feel very finite. I never expected something so beautiful. We arrived alone yesterday evening and had time for a delightful dinner at the village, and an impressive sunset over the mountains. Tere
