Abstract

ETD-Student Information System Integration: Simplification and Automation

Ellen Ramsey, University of Virginia

In 2011, the Library began a project to retain engineering theses and dissertations in electronic format, which served as a pilot for ETDs university-wide. This presentation will explore the process of getting all stakeholders invested and cooperating for the pilot.

Going NoQuest: How and Why One University Looked Beyond ProQuest to Publish and Manage its Electronic Theses and Dissertations

Chris Vinson, and Andrew Wesolek, Clemson University

This panel will focus on the successes and challenges Clemson University has experienced in its approach to moving beyond ProQuest as a means of publishing its graduate and doctoral research. Specifically, we will outline our reasons for looking beyond ProQuest, our transition from distributing ETDs via a home-grown database to a newly-launched bepress institutional repository, and potential new models for distributing Open Access ETDs.
