Trending visualization tools are feverishly dominating library and higher education ecosystems yet the foundation to many includes the use of spreadsheets. Although powerful data visualization tools on their own, spreadsheets are also needed to use some of the latest trending tools such as Tableau, Voyant, StoryMaps, Palladio, and database development among others. The presentation will demonstrate the power of spreadsheets on their own and as the base for other visualization tools that are used in digital scholarship program development. Observers will walk away with at least five example uses of spreadsheets that can help further program development goals.
