Description
What does it mean to practice comics librarianship within a framework of critical librarianship? This roundtable panel will address themes of critical librarianship and comics, continuing discussions raised in the 2019 publication "Comics and Critical Librarianship: Reframing the Narrative in Academic Libraries" and in the wider body of scholarship on critical librarianship and comics studies. Moderated by Stephanie Grimm, this panel will feature several speakers who contributed to the original publication, including curators Jenny Robb and Caitlin McGurk, in a discussion of how their approaches have adapted and evolved in the intervening years. Our discussion topics will potentially include exhibitions, teaching, and collection development and acquisitions.
