Front Garden, Mission San Juan Capistrano, California – Mission San Juan Capistrano, Calif. Founded by Fra Junipero Serra in 1776. Famous as the "Home of the Swallows." Each spring, about March, large flights of swallows suddenly arrive at the Mission where they spend the summer, leaving again in the fall, about October.
