Lake Tahoe and Mt. Tallac – The coloring of Lake Tahoe's water–a brilliant emerald and indigo blue–is remarkable. 23 miles long, 13 miles wide and over 1800 feet deep. It is completely hemmed in by peaks varying from 8,250 feet to 11,120 feet above the sea level. The elevation of the lake is 6,250 feet.
