Mission San Juan de Capistrano, Third Mission Built in 1731, San Antonio, Texas – Near Mission San Juan de Capistrano may be seen, still well preserved and used to some extent, the aqueduct constructed by the Monks to convey water from the San Antonio river for irrigating their fruitful gardens. This is perhaps the oldest irrigation system in the United States.
