Description

Scrapbook of newspaper clippings titled "v. 2 - 1958-60." While the scrapbook cover gives 1958-1960 as the date range, newspaper clippings date through January 1961. A memo for Volumes I through IV note this scrapbook was created by staff of the Athletic News Bureau to document University of San Diego athletic activities and the early development of USD athletics. In addition to athletics, news clippings in this scrapbook cover topics such as Vice President Richard Nixon's visit to USD, events, and housing for students. Clippings in this scrapbook are not arranged chronologically. Bookmarks have been added to the PDF for direct access to specific dates and publications other than news clippings. While Optical Character Recognition (OCR) has been performed on this PDF, the condition of the scrapbooks limits the reliability. Researchers are not advised to rely on OCR to find articles on specific topics.
