Excerpt from Message
Dear M. Kraemer, It won’t be long now until we’re home. Now that we are here we feel a little closer to home. Last Wednesday we had an audience with the Pope along with 500 people. Then yesterday we had another one with just a little over 300, mostly all American. I was so surprised to run into Kathy Seabrook there. She is having a wonderful time. It certainly was a wonderful experience to have seen the Pope twice. Saturday night I went over to the Mother House – to see if I could see M. O’Brien but just missed her because the day before they left for Naples before going home. I was very glad to have bet Re. Mother Benzinger, she told me that the Mother Gen. is very ill. Well, be seeing you soon. Lovingly Mary Lou S.
