Saint-Sernin Church, Toulouse – This is the most spacious romanesque building in the South. The immense nave dates from the XIIth and XIIIth centuries. Above the magnificent vault flanked by five chapels connected with the small vaults of the transepts, there rises a marellous hexagonal tower with five stories of high arcaturas, and crowned by an open gallery and an arrow. This Church contains the greatest rishes of Christianity, after that of St-Peter at Rome.
