Abstract
Local rules of court are supposed to be consistent with but not duplicative of federal rules. This Article provides an overview of how certain local rules of the Southern District of California do conflict with federal rules, either intentionally or unintentionally. The Author also discusses how certain local rules duplicate federal rules. The Article concludes with some remedial suggestions for the lower courts.
