Abstract
EBSCO knows that libraries play an important role in the collection, preservation and dissemination of research output and digital research & archival collections. In this session, EBSCO product managers will discuss EBSCO’s new initiatives to support libraries in this realm. We will look at the uses cases for collecting and preserving digital collections – such as images, maps or audio materials – as well as scholarly output from research articles to theses and dissertations. Then we will outline and demonstrate an open and modular approach to develop tools for integrated workflows from deposit, to archiving, as well as full digital preservation and safeguarding. This approach will validate the benefits of an open and modular approach that provides libraries more choice of what infrastructure to deploy and how best to support their desired preservation and discovery workflows.
