Excerpt from Message

May 21. Dear Flora: Your letter I post in Rome and always glad to have news of you & Ted. So happy you both have recovered, for your illness so well. Alice flew yesterday to Boston. She has been the most delightful travel companion as you can imagine, added so much to my pleasure. Such a success everywhere we went and beloved by all who met her. I shall miss her very much but she was eager to return home & see her family on the way. She will give you a full report on her arrival. Very interesting to be in Vienna last weekend for the peace treaty celebration. The Austrians are happy to love their freedom. I go to Paris at the [illegible] for June. Hope you enjoy S.B. the summer. My warmest to you & Ted. Otis
