Split Rock Lighthouse, 200 Feet above Beautiful Lake Superior – Split Rock is so named because two cliffs a quarter of a mile apart, when viewed from the lake, appear as one, split in twain. Split Rock Lighthouse, on the brink of a sheer cliff 200 feet above the lake, is open to visitors daily except Sunday.
