Excerpt from Message

Tues. 29th May - En route pour los Angeles. 9.45 AM Ma Mie. Tucked in a corner [illegible] turned to window on Santa Fe. Have been taking account of distances. I realize the trip many friends make to come to see us. Del Mar 35 minutes on train. Oceanside one hour. Someday - not too far hence you will be rolling towards. Leaving S.D. could see our college stand out on the hill -- as the train curves one sees it front, side & back. People are amazed -- ask if that is the whole university--we answer modestly, no, just one unit. The SDCW. All my love you G. RSCJ
