Mt. Fuji (12,385 ft. high) has been so familiar in the world as the symbole of Japan that the mountain has been seen in the pictures and the paintings and the name has been in the poems and the folk songs for a long time. This mountain was born in many thousand years ago and the beautiful shape now seen was built up after hundreds of erupsions [sic] between the original peaks. Ko-Mitake and Hoei-Zan.
