Fort Christian, St. Thomas, Virgin Islands, U.S.A. Fort Christian, built by the Danes in 1671, is the oldest building in the Virgin Islands. It was the Governor's Headquarters and the main defense of the town in the old days. Now it serves as a Police Headquarters and city gaol.
