Excerpt from Message

Salto de Agua – Monday June 11 ? / Dear Mother Bremner, I started to write this card in Mexico, but here we are in Salto and it has yet to be completed. I am learning to appreciate the real meaning of the word “Manana.” I would like to thank you very much for the book “The whole story” – Mary Jane gave it to me shortly before I left. I will have ample time to read and digest the material this summer – and to think this country is very conducive to thought. We flew from Mexico to Villa Hermosa Thursday, then we took a train to Palenque. Saturday might we came to Salto & tomorrow we start up the river. I feel as if I have been gone for years and each day takes us back in time. Thank you again for the book, and I wish you a very nice summer. Sincerely, Jenny
