Caption

City of Carcassonne – The fantastic City of Carcassone, bristling with towers and jagged with battlements, unfolds a double ring of gigantic walls. Formidable citadel with Roman and Visigoth towers; castle, posterns, barbicans and ramparts of the XIIIIth century above which stands a magnificent cathedral. It constitutes a complete, striking example of a fortified town of the Middle Ages.
