Palermo 10-15-54. The “eonca d’ora” topped by Mt. S. Pelegrino (our favorite aqua minerale) [not shown in picture] Scene of revolt 1282, (against the hugerus) known as the Sicilian Vespers” but then plagued into decadence by the succeeding Aragonese. Also went again this year to Monreale (tons of the finest medieval monuments in all Italy). Adj. Benedictine cloisters (like S. GIOV. Degli Erennita) rectangular with pointed-arches – on turin column splendid capitals vary mosaic decor – sweet fountain. Weather “variable” Love F.
