California Redwoods - Once widespread over the northern hemisphere the giant redwoods, Sequoia Sempervirens, now only survive in a narrow coastal belt reaching from southwest Oregon to Big Sur, south of Monterey. They grow in dense forests with a lush undergrowth of ferns, bracken and, in season, a profusion of wild flowers.

Excerpt from Message

Barstow, July 8th Beautiful forestry, kindly passengers very friendly and paternal conductor (& Ms. Casey fr. Chicago). How happy, how priviledged we are. Wrapt in thoughts suggested by Bishop B's very devotional book. Love - thanks A.C.
