Description

An armorial bookplate in sepia ink on sepia-tinted paper. The design features a heraldic shield with three crescents and a horizontal band of ermine spots. Above the shield is a knight’s helmet and a crest depicting a wyvern (a mythical dragon-like creature). The shield and helmet are surrounded by an elaborate floral and foliate mantling. A banner at the top reads “NIL SINE NUMINE,” which translates to “Nothing without providence.” Below the shield, another banner bears the name “QUADE CHRISTOPHER WELD.”
