Description

A pictorial bookplate in black ink on sepia-tinted paper. The design features a central circular medallion with an ornate border, containing the text: “LIBRARIES ARE AS FORESTS, IN WHICH NOT ONLY TALL CEDARS AND OAKS ARE TO BE FOUND, BUT BUSHES TOO AND DWARFISH SHRUBS. — William Drummond.” On either side of the medallion, there are scenes of a forest and an open book with more books stacked around it. Above the medallion, a ribbon banner reads “EX LIBRIS.” Below the medallion, the name “HERSCHEL V. JONES” is prominently displayed in a decorative frame.
