An etched pictorial bookplate on white paper with black ink. It's a small stage with the curtains open to reveal a nature view of trees, bushes, hills, and a stream as a background and books on the stage. On the top left and right of the bookplate are thistle flowers. On the bottom is "John Barton McDougal" written.
