Description

An etched pictorial bookplate on light sepia paper with black ink, commissioned by Edward Oliver Essig, a professor of Entomology at UC Berkeley. The center photo is of a man looking through a microscope at his desk. He appears to be in some sort of library/office space next to a window that looks out into nature. Framing on top there are insects, a lake cabin, a building, and a tree. On the bottom there are leaves and flowers cluttered together with different crests and greek letter pendants. The name on this bookplate is "Edward Oliver Essig".
