Description

An engraved pictorial bookplate on sepia tinted paper with black ink. The image is the front view of three houses side by side. Bordering the image is a calligraphic border and books below. On the bottom right of the house image is a banner in Latin that says "stadt huys 1640", which translates too "city house". The border also has scales in the detailing. On top is a crest with windmill blades, two barrels, and squirrels. There is one open book with the words "The Laws and Acts...New York" on the right page. The rest of the books are closed and leaning on eachother. The spines have different names. The bookplate says "Ex Libris AC Bernheim", ex libris is used to identify the owner of the bookplate.
