Description

A pictorial bookplate on off white paper with black ink for the Connecticut State Library. There's a portrait of an older man that has a banner at the bottom saying "The collection of" and the signature of Dwight C. Kilbourn. To the left of the signature are books with last names on the spines. To the right of the signature are ancient tools. Surrounding the portrait are American flags, Library flags, open books, and three subjects: "History. Education. Genealogy." Below the signature is a picture of the building and there is a script that provides more information about the image "1887 Litchfield County Court House 1914". The image is framed with a column on each side and the bottom is a simple border. On the left side is a crest with three guns and three roses. The crest on the right has three birds with an angled stripe in the middle. There's also the same bird standing on top of the crest. The fill out section of the bookplate is for "Class. Book. Date. Accession NO.". The year 1916 is written in the bottom border.
