John William Jameson
A pictorial bookplate on white paper with sepia colored ink for Valentine Davies. "Ex-Libris" is used to show who the book owner is. There is a stage with the theatrical curtains. On the stage are papers, books, and a quill pen in an ink cup. In the top left corner of the curtains there is an illustration of a bird leaving a cage bordered by a ribbon banner that says "If you neglect me you lose me." In the top right corner of the curtains is the University of Michigan's seal. Below the stage is the name and on the left side of the names is a realistic sketch of the comedy mask. On the right side of the name is a realistic sketch of the tragedy mask.
