Description

A pictorial bookplate on white paper with black ink for Alice Calendar. There's a picture of a valley with mountains from a high view from one end. Framing the image is a border with calligraphic leaves and three crests. On top is a crest with an open book saying "I. Ch. V Chess Vs. 21" underneath are three wheats and a checker pattern. The crest on the right is "University of Michigan 1817" with an image of a lamp of knowledge and says in latin "Artes scientia veritas" which translates to "Art, Science, Truth". On the right is a crest of in Latin "Sigillum collegii columbliae novi eborace" which translates to "Seal Of Columbia College, New York". with an image of a man holding a book on a throne and three little kids looking up to him.
