Description
An armorial bookplate on sepia tinted paper with black ink for the Library of the Society of Colonial Wars in the State of New Jersey. There's a family crest that's divided into four sections. The top left has three lions placed vertically and on lion standing on its hind legs. The top right has three Fleur de Lis in a triangle. The bottom left is a harp with an angel as the edge. The bottom right is divided into three sections; two lions placed vertically, a lion standing on its hind legs with stars around it, and a running horse. In the background of the bookplate are calligraphic leaves with depth. On top of the crest is a king's crown and a banner that says in Latin "fortiter pro patria" which translates to "bravely for the country". Beneath the crest is a banner with two dates, "1607 1775".
