Description

A pictorial bookplate on sepia tinted paper with black ink for Walter Merriam Pratt. The center picture is of a room that has a desk, bookshelves filled with books, a couch, and a chair. The banner on the top of the picture says in Latin "Omnia Possibilia Volenti" translating to "All Possible to the Willing". On each corner of the picture is a crest. The one on the top left corner is "Chelsea Winnisimmet Settled 1624 A Town 1739 A City 1857" with an image of a man holding a bow with the wilderness in the background. The oen on the top right corner is "General Society of Mayflower Descendants 1620 Plymouth 1897" with an image of a ship at sea. The one on the bottom left corner is "Society of Colonial Wars of Massacivetts" with an image of a man holding a bow and arrow. The one on the bottom right corner is "National Society of the Sons of the American Revolution Organized April 30 1889" with an image of a soldier and writing that says "Massachusetts Society Organized April 1889". In the background above the center image is a lion and down the sides is a pattern that includes an image. On the right is a jar with the year 1752. On the left is an artist measuring tool with the year 1638.
