A pictorial bookplate in black ink on white paper features a detailed map of the world , flanked by portraits of explorers in oval frames, with the title "AMERICAN ANTIQUARIAN SOCIETY" below. The map and images of Columbus and Cortes reflect a historical and explorative theme. There is intricate borderwork surrounding the scene, and three flags between the explorers.
